Sometimes the yarn and projects on my desk stack so high that they start covering my monitors. I’m not sure how to feel about that.
The RPR Logo banner is slowly driving me nuts. The first rows were easy because the changes in color were pretty consistent and far apart. Then the detail of the double knitting kicked in and I’m just not focused enough to keep proper track of which color I’m at now. Sometimes the colors chance every other stitch five times in a row and it’s so hard to keep your place in the pattern.
My family is getting knitted stuff for Christmas. I bought fluffy yarn for my mom’s scarf a couple of months ago and feel like working on it now.
I have 2 balls of hombre grey/white fluffy yarn, and 1 ball of white fluffy yarn. It’s meant for 5-6mm needles, but my 5’s are occupied and the next best thing is either a 3.5 or a 7. So I went for my 7mm needles.
Unfortunately, while it’s fluffy yarn, the base thread to which the fluff is attached is very thin, so the holes are pretty big. I’m combining the white/grey yarn with black, and the white with white to make it thicker. It’s going to be about 35-40 stitches wide and I don’t know how many rows tall. Until it fits or I run out of yarn.
The fluffy yarns are only 118 yards long each. I’m probably going to stick with a regular rib stitch since the fluff makes the stitches almost impossible to see. However, I don’t know how far I can get. I always find it difficult to factor in the amount I can knit when I use different yarns of different sizes etc.. I don’t know if the store still sells this yarn either.
I also don’t quite yet know how to alternate the colors. It’s going to be striped, with the grey hombre possibly 10-15 rows long and the white 5-10 rows long. Not sure yet! We’ll see, I’m probably going to figure this out today.
